Ardagh Group
Following a series of fatalities (captured on a global level), ‘ttc’ were appointed by Ardagh Group to undertake an operational review of their 9 Glass and Beverage production plants in the UK as a preventative measure. The work included the development of a clear and concise methodology for the operational review of each plant within the Group, which included for the following elements:
- Site Inspections undertaken to fully appreciate the operation of the individual sites, which included meetings with key stakeholders.
- Site Audits using a bespoke smart phone application to capture images, make notes and record GPS locations of issues.
- Traffic Surveys to determine the existing base line for various users on site, such as pedestrians, Forklift Trucks, Vehicles (Internal and External) including Heavy Goods Vehicles.
- ‘Accidents and Near Misses’ Review to determine any correlation or pattern between accidents.
- Identification of key conflict areas, based on the above, which were mapped on bespoke schematics for each site.
- Provision of detailed ‘Operational Review Reports’ for each site, which included the information collection (referenced above) and a detailed Risk Assessment of the potential issues, alongside recommendations and residual risk.
In addition to the above, ‘ttc’ were also commissioned to review the company’s best practices in relation to traffic and road safety, to ensure that the current provision was ‘fit for purpose’ and promoted best practice.
