‘ttc’ were appointed by Allon Homes to support a planning application for a residential development comprising 79 units in the village of Wetwang, near Driffield.
The development was situated on a vacant site earmarked for development, but with several concerns raised locally regarding access and the suitability of the immediate local road network to safely support the development proposals. As a result, an access appraisal was conducted to determine the most appropriate access arrangements, which resulted in the principle vehicle access being relocated from their intended location in the village to a neighbouring ‘B’ classified highway.
To accommodate the proposed access solution, a relocation of the speed limit change was proposed, which included the preparation of designs for a village gateway feature. The proposed amendment’s to the speed limit were duly accepted and together, with the submission of a comprehensive Transport Assessment and Framework Travel Plan, the development was approved at planning committee.
