‘ttc’ were appointed to provide the transport and highways works to accompany a planning application for a residential development in Yelland, North Devon.

The development proposals comprised 80 residential units, which required the submission of a Transport Assessment, preparation of a site access design and a Framework Travel Plan. ‘ttc’ conducted consultation with the Local Highway Authority to discuss the scope of the assessment and the existing conditions on the highway.

Due to the linear nature of the existing settlement and the reliance on a single principal local highway, it was necessary to demonstrate that the development would not have a ‘severe’ impact on the safe operation of the local highway. This was determined through the capacity modelling of three local junctions, with cionsideration of committed infrastructure improvements.

Through the submission of our comprehensive Transport Assessment and associated reports, ‘ttc’ were able to secure ‘no objection’ from Devonshire County Council to the satisfaction of our client.
