Moreton-in-Marsh Town Council – Parking and Transport Movement Study
‘ttc’ were commissioned by Moreton-in-Marsh Town Council to undertake a Parking and Transport Movement Study to assist with the overall ambition for the town and become a ‘People’s Town fit for the 21st Century’.
Given the extensive background of survey information, reports, plans, planning applications, and various parking proposals in the public domain, it was considered imperative, as a first stage, to prepare a comprehensive and coordinated review of all information available, which would provide a sound evidence base to support and promote the Council’s aspirations.
The key focus of the study was to align with the Vision, Aims and Objectives of the Town Council in respect of Transport and Parking and provide a succinct set of recommendations that would help to reduce congestion, improve highway safety, optimise the parking asset and maintain a thriving local economy.
The outcomes from the study provided a clear indication of the traffic movements resulting from the parking strategy and its impact on the existing problems and issues facing the residents and visitors. The outcomes from the were presented to the Town Council, who are currently reviewing the potential next steps.
