James is an Director with over 20 years experience in Transport Planning, gained through a combination of independent and multidisciplinary consultancies.
James is a Transport Planner with 20 years of experience at private sector consultancies. His main focus has been towards supporting private and public sector clients with their development planning goals and has experience in supporting a range of clients including developers, land promoters and local authorities at all stages of the planning process, from initial site selection, Local Plan promotion and feasibility studies through to planning applications and appeals.
James has extensive experience dealing with Local Highway Authorities, Highways England and other key stakeholders. He has expert knowledge in highway design, junction modelling and preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals, WCHAR Reports and EIA Chapters for a wide range of development uses, including large scale residential developments across the Midlands, including sites in Birmingham, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Shropshire, as well as commercial, retail and education developments throughout the UK.
Over the years James has gained excellent knowledge of the planning system and is very experienced in working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This enables him to provide well rounded advice to clients taking into account potential impacts on other disciplines.
James is a team player and takes a lead in mentoring junior members of staff. He is client focused and a conscientious individual with an eye for detail and enjoys finding innovative solutions to the challenges the job brings.
