The Transportation Consultancy open Bristol office with Andrew Hughes at the helm
We’re excited to welcome Andrew Hughes to The Transportation Consultancy (ttc), joining us as an Associate to lead our newly opened Bristol office. This expansion reflects ttc’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, effective consultancy to clients across the South West of England and Wales.

With Andrew’s in-depth knowledge of the region, its key stakeholders, and its transport challenges, our local presence will be instrumental in supporting both existing and new projects across Bristol and beyond.

“Andrew joins ttc to set up our Bristol office and provide some senior support to the Birmingham team. Right from the initial meeting with Andrew it was clear that his experience and knowledge of the Bristol Market was going to support the growth goals of ttc, and allow the company to expand into the South West and South Wales market which we had identified as part of the business growth plan.“
With both a BA (Hons) and MA from the University of Liverpool, Andrew blends strong academic knowledge with a practical, solutions-led approach to transport planning. Having started his career as an Air Quality Consultant before moving into transport planning with Savell Bird and Axon in London. He later joined an independent startup, TTP, where he focused on the London region before taking on wider responsibilities across the London, Bristol, and Cardiff offices at WYG. Most recently, Andrew played a key role in setting up a Bristol office for TTP Consulting before making the move to ttc.
Andrew Hughes proven experience
One of Andrew’s proudest projects is his work on the Mynydd Isa Campus in Flintshire. Supporting client WEPCo, he delivered a comprehensive Transport Assessment and Travel Plan with full backing from Flintshire Highways. The scheme successfully integrated a much-improved pick-up and drop-off area to better support the school community. Other notable projects Andrew has worked on include, New Covent Garden Market – London, Bridgend West Primary Schools in Wales and Filwood Broadway in Bristol.
Along with his experience, Andrew brings a dynamic and problem-solving mindset to every project. Clients can expect honest, technical, and robust advice, always aimed at achieving the best possible outcomes.
