In a continued commitment to offering trusted and innovative Transport Planning consultancy to its UK and International clients, The Transportation Consultancy ‘ttc’ appoints Annabel Precious, Chartered Civil Engineer, MEng (Hons), MICE, CEng, as Associate Director. Not only does she bring 23 years of rich experience in transport planning, civil engineering and design, but she also specialises in the innovative area of ‘placemaking and movement engineering’.
Annabel says,
“My approach to work is fuelled by a ‘can-do’ attitude and a passion for sustainable travel. I believe in designing and providing infrastructure that facilitates and maximises the opportunity for sustainable movement for people of all ages and abilities.
Along with my experience, I bring my commitment to sustainable development, innate curiosity, logical problem-solving approach, and my drive to embed active travel solutions into every project to the clients of ttc.
My mission is to empower current and future generations to embrace more sustainable modes of transport, and ttc is my next step in pushing forward on this mission.”
George Bailes, Managing Director of ‘ttc’, says,
“Annabel is an absolutely massive coup for ‘ttc’, her contacts, experience and knowledge of the industry she brings to ‘ttc’ will help shape the company and expand into different areas and markets. Which is pivotal to achieving our growth goals and objectives set out in the Goldman Sachs business plan. The fact Annabel has decided to come onboard represents how far we’ve come as a company.
We are also pleased to be increasing the diversity in our team, which is an important ethos of our growth and we will continue to be dedicated towards being inclusive and diverse as a company.
I’m particularly looking forward to working with Annabel on the design delivery and the active travel side of things. Annabel has settled in immediately and is already having a big impact on the success of the company. “
Over her career, Annabel has worked on some fascinating projects, one being the Tramlink project in her hometown of Croydon, which ignited her interest in sustainable transport and positive impact it can have on creating sustainable communities. She also worked on the planning of some large, healthy new town projects, to embed sustainable transport strategies into their DNA. Some significant achievements to date are leading on the design and delivery of retrofitting cycle routes into Oxford’s urban road network, and leading on the design delivery for various town centre improvement schemes focusing on regeneration opportunities and embedding active travel solutions to the heart of central areas. Through her work, she has developed an excellent understanding of strategic and detailed transport planning issues in urban and rural environments.
