Bedford Square, Loughborough

The Bedford Square gateway project aims were to transform the southern end of Loughborough town centre to create a more attractive and pedestrian-friendly destination for those living in and visiting the town centre.

Our team provided design services that took the project from concept design through to construction. This included Stakeholder and Public Engagement, S278 agreements and concept and detailed design development. The proposals aim to provide a high-quality and attractive street scene, showcasing the area’s distinct character and heritage.

Increasing the amount of public realm through widening pavements and creating pedestrian friendly areas for events was key to the projects success and was well received by the local community and business traders. Bespoke paving, street furniture and lighting schemes were developed to give a unique sense of place to this independent retail area in Loughborough town centre.
